Each use has certain mandatory quality specifications that can only be achieved through testing. Water quality assessments provide the end user with the assurance that the treatment, supply and distribution of water meet all international and local standards; thus minimizing the environmental health risks associated with contaminated water. Sources of contamination could be from wastewater, agricultural run-off, industrial waste etc. Using poor quality water can result in a number of health impacts including diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pains and other gastro-intestinal illnesses.
