Microbiology
Microbiology is the study of micro-organisms and their impact through contact with humans, animals, plants and the environment as a whole. In a world of “Superbugs,” microbiology, a multidisciplinary science, is rapidly gaining recognition. The techniques involved in the detection and enumeration of microorganisms have numerous applications in food and dairy production, agriculture, medicine and the environment to name a few areas.
ESL’s Quality Environmental Health Laboratory Services (QEHL) has a microbiology laboratory accredited to the International Organization for Standardization’s laboratory standard, ISO 17025. Our technicians and analysts are experienced in the collection and analysis of varying food and environmental samples. In addition, ESL provides information on testing requirements and makes recommendations based on test findings from our lab.
