ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS LTD (ESL)

was the first company established  in Jamaica  to bring an integrated approach to environmental management and development. For over 18 years the company has lived its mission:

In order to provide the basis for informing development that is sustainable, ESL applies an interdisciplinary approach to its service offerings.  The company has incorporated the several environmental sub-disciplines including the many aspects of pure and applied sciences: the earth, biological, physical, and social sciences, as well as engineering, in its commitment to providing practical solutions to both the public and private sectors in infrastructure planning and development (roadways, water supplies, waste management, airports, seaports, hydropower, telecommunications, etc); tourism; manufacturing; and land development. 

ESL has heightened the awareness of Jamaica's vulnerability to natural hazards and the need for appropriate risk management strategies in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean.  

Several companies have been guided by ESL to integrate sound environmental principles into operations and management through the establishment of environmental management systems (EMS)  and preparation for International Standards certification (ISO 14000).

Established in 1991, ESL through its Consulting Principals, has provided environmental management services throughout the English-speaking Caribbean, Central America, West Africa, Canada, and Asia. The company has worked on several major projects funded by the World Bank, UNDP, Inter American Development Bank, Caribbean Development Bank, and others.  It has established agreements of cooperation with a number of local and overseas consulting and engineering firms in USA, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean.
